KIDS4KIDS city collection

For us at I’M A GIRLY, children are not only our customers, they are the source of our inspiration. Everything we produce has to face our critical KIDS4KIDS design team first. Only once our panel of 9 to 14-year-old boys and girls have given their approval, do we go into production.

Creative minds

Because we want to collect and encourage as many individual opinions and ideas as possible, we have decided to create KIDS4KIDS city collections. We have organized KIDS4KIDS design sessions with local kids in several cities to create Zurich, Berlin and London collections.

London: Chelsy and Emily

Chelsy (9) and Emily (9) were a bit hesitant in the beginning to design and outfit together, as they had different opinions on how the outfits should look like: "At first, we didn't get along, but after a while we got used to each other and came up with this super cute outfit together," says Chelsy. Emily adds "we didn't like each other, but now we are best friends", while exchanging phone numbers. "I love that you can easily make friends and create something together", she continues.

Berlin: Lotta and Elsa

Lotta (11) and Elsa (10) are already experienced designers and stylists. "I have a sewing machine at home to make clothes for my dolls," says Elsa. "I recently sewed a ballet dress for my doll and I also like to play with makeup and paint different animal faces,” adds Lotta. To keep up with the latest fashion trends, Elsa regularly borrows the latest issue of Vogue from her mother. When it comes to their dream job, the two agree: "We want to be designers, for sure!”

Zurich: Sophie and Emmylou

You can tell from their designs, the sisters Sophie (11) and Emmylou (9) are a well-rehearsed team. Everything is discussed in detail first before they draw their ideas on paper and, in the end, a well-matched outfit is created. Their goal: create a party outfit. Do you want to be a designer yourself later? "That would be cool," says Sophie, "but it's hard to say. There are so many possibilities." During the design session for the new KIDS4KIDS Zurich Collection, the kids get a first idea of what it means to create and design something for themselves: "It's a great feeling to be part of this. As if we were real designers!” says Sophie excitedly. "It's super cool!" adds Emmylou.

Zurich: Fiona and Aylin

Fiona (12) and Aylin (9) are very proud and excited to be a part of the next KIDS4KIDS Zurich Collection: "It makes me very happy that we made it and were chosen to be a part of this project.” says Aylin. "After all, you don’t get a chance like this every day," adds Fiona. They have put a lot of thought into what they would like to design for the KIDS4KIDS Zurich Collection: “We would like to create an elegant outfit.” When asked about their dream job, Fiona and Aylin agree: "It would be cool to one day be a designer.”
